THREE TRIPS FROM TRIER GERMANY

I stayed in Trier Germany for four nights ,using it as a base for trips out. The train is great for getting around,.
The DB regional train pass is good value, valid after 9am for all day. It can be used as often as you like in the day.I believe there is a bargain for family ticket. These were three trips out. I did blog on Trier in an earlier blog.

-----------------Saarburg is a city in Rhineland-Palatine State of Germany, on the banks of the river Saar. The waterfall is from the 13th century ,a project to redirect the river through the city centre.----- Riesling Grapes are grown in the area around Saarburg.-----------------------------Cochem is on the Left Bank of the river Moselle in a Wine growing area of Germany. There is a Chairlift that reaches 155 metres .. It was first built in 1955. In the centre of Cochem ,is an old Gateway dating from 1332. Cochem is busy with tourists, a charming place to visit..-----------------------------------Rudesheim is in Hesse Germany, in another Grape growing area. It is on the river Rhine, across the river is Bingham. Here in Rudesheim, is another Chairlift, gliding over the Grape Vines. The chairlift is called Sesselbahn. From the rail station, trains are hourly to Koblenz, on the East Rhine Railway. ---- The full name is Rudesheim Am Rhein.
